The camera is intended for registration of images of fast running processes in a near infra-red and visible spectral range and measurements of their spatially-temporal parameters in streak mode of operation with 2 picosecond of limiting temporal resolution.Record of the image from the image converter tube (ICT) screen is made by means of large-format CCD readout unit with image input in the personal computer. Software provides the user with wide possibilities of processing the recorded image.

The subjects of designing and application of high-speed streak-cameras are reflected in articles [3, 4, 7, 8, 13, 14, 19, 24, 27-30, 32, 38-47, 53- 65] in "Publications" section.

  • studies of burning, detonation and explosion,

  • non-stationary spectroscopy,

  • plasma physics including thermonuclear synthesis,
  • electrical breakdowns and discharges.
The main components of the camera: 
  • input objective (a set of the objectives is possible) projecting projecting an image of registered process at a intermediate image plane on slit;
  • slit with smooth adjustment width made by a computer or manually;
  • electromechanical shutter;
  • double-objective system projecting a registered process image from a slit cut intermediate image plane at time-analyzing streak tube's photocathode;
  • PV-206 – time-analyzing ICT with S-1 or S-20 photocathode applied on uviol glass, two pairs of deflecting plates and a phosphor screen applied on a fiber-optic disk;
  • EP-10 – a modular brightness intensifier with S-25 photocathode and one microchannel plate (MCP);
  • power supply unit;
  • two changeable control units – nanosecond and microsecond (option) with a shut pulse generator and a sweep pulse generator;
  • RU-07 large format CCD readout unit (fiber optic input, 1280 x 1024 pixels, 12-digit ADC, linear dynamic range  ≥ 1000) with an electrical (≤ 5 m) or fiber-optic (≤ 500 m) communicational computer link ;
  • notebook with installed software;
  • neutral filter of 0.5, 1 and 2 density set on the input objective or its place;
  • holding plate for mechanical fixation of the camera on a work site.
